Lightspin Receives SOC 2 Type I Certification
Tel Aviv, April 5 – Lightspin, the first contextual cloud security platform, today announced it has received a System and Organization Controls (SOC) 2 Type I certification for its Contextual Cloud Security Platform.
“Our platform not only protects our customers’ cloud and Kubernetes environments, but it also simplifies cloud security for both security and DevOps teams, and increases their productivity,” said Or Azarzar, CTO of Lightspin. “Now it’s also officially certified that we further protect our customers by meeting the highest industry standards for security and trust controls in the cloud – SOC 2 Type I certification.”
An audit conducted by PWC confirmed that Lightspin met the Security Trust Services Criteria established by the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA).
What is SOC 2 Type I Certification and What is It Good for?
SOC 2 Type I certification is an auditing process that tells the user that a service provider has the ability to securely manage data according to best-practices of privacy and security.
The SOC 2 reports provide ultimate assurance and peace of mind for users, that the processing integrity of the vendor’s systems is of a specific level, both in their design and in the operating effectiveness of these controls.
In this case, that means that when we at Lightspin manage our user’s data, we put a focus on using processes that champion the confidentiality and the privacy of any information we touch. For users, this can support alignment with vendor management programs, internal corporate governance and risk management, specific regulatory oversight, and more.
Organizations today are under more pressure than ever before to document and track the state of their security, and this includes any third-party supply chain partners on the cloud, part of the overall network. This SOC 2 certification is therefore a vital step in proving how robust and secure our solution really is, and how we continually work to support our customers.
